Timbre

• All sound, and thus all music has timbre (tone quality, quality of sound).
• The aesthetics of timbre differs among music cultures (what is considered pleasing or
  appropriate in one music culture may be considered unpleasant or inappropriate in
  another).
• Instrumental and vocal timbres: Not only do specific instruments and voices have their
  own distinct timbres, but most instruments are capable of sounding a variety of timbres.
• Timbres can now be created and merged electronically to make an infinite number of
  timbres.
